Member's status and compensation

Status codes represent changes in a member's status. Using Status Dates you can assign status codes to members and thecompensation paid to members while in a particular status.

  • For example, you might want to track when members were hired and their compensation while they are in the hired status. You can also track other job statuses such as when a member was fired, laid off, working part-time, etc. Some basys functions might update member statuses. For example, your system might be setup to create a new status date entry when an employer remits contributions for a new member.

Important status date information, including the member's last hire, last termination, and last status date code shows on the Member session status data tileClosed An area available on a session navigation pane that contains key information related to the session (e.g. provider, member, claim, information).. In a dependent session, the status data tile shows the member's last five statuses.

Status dates

The Status Dates tab displays a table of the member's statuses including the date range the status code is in effect and other information related to the member's status. The compensation column indicates if compensation tracking for the status code exists with a .

If this is information you'll use often, consider making it part of your Member summary for easy access.

Compensation

Some status codes might be linked to compensation information which is used in calculating rates or determining benefit amounts.

  • For example, if a member is entitled to life insurance coverage equal to 150% of his yearly compensation and the member earns $50,000 per year, he would be entitled to life insurance coverage of $75,000.

If a status code has been setup to allow compensation tracking, a green check mark shows in the Status Dates tab Compensation column.
